The Lahey Center for Oncology and Hematology at Parkland Medical Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. This special accreditation, which is awarded to only one in four cancer programs across the US, recognizes the quality of our comprehensive patient care -- and our commitment to providing our patients access to a team of specialists who are involved in researching, diagnosing, and treating cancer. We offer cancer care services ranging from intravenous therapy to bone marrow testing and Phase III clinical trials.
Parkland's Center for Oncology & Hematology is proud to collaborate with Lahey Clinic, one of the region's most recognized academic medical centers. We team up with two Lahey cancer specialists who are our front-line defense in your cancer treatment and recovery journey. Because they work right here at the clinic, you get the benefits of their expertise in our warm and compassionate community setting. We also have Oncology-Certified registered nurses on staff who have received special training in caring for people with cancer.
Your treatment team will consist of these skilled professionals as well as an Oncology Social Worker who will point you to helpful resources, an Oncology and Hematology Nurse Navigator to coordinate your care, and a Clinical Trials Nurse to research new treatment studies that may help you. Other members of your team include a nutritionist, social worker, laboratory technician, on-site oncology and hematology pharmacist, and an on-site pharmacy technician.
The center also offers a full complement of educational programs for both patients and their caregivers, as well as help coordinating transportation, financial resources and support groups.
